Free Penny Stocks Picks
|
Free penny stocks picks are quite alluring for many investors for the very reason that they are free. However, it is important to understand that these free picks can sometimes cost you a great deal of money. If you follow bad advice, whether it is free or not, you stand to lose money. While taking free investment advice is risky, penny stock investing is riskier still. Even so, there are many investors willing to take the risk for the chance of big profits.
Penny stocks are defined by the SEC as stocks that cost less than $5 per share. Many investors would tell you that penny stocks are those that cost under $1, which is a more accurate description. These stocks are not traded on the major exchanges. The major exchanges include NYSE and NASDAQ. Instead, penny stocks are traded on what is called the Over the Counter Bulletin board and/or the Pink Sheets. A stock can be listed on both. You can recognize this type of stock by the initials pk after the stock symbol.
Penny stocks are risky because the companies are often very volatile. Also, they can be manipulated by scammers more easily than other stocks. A difference of a few cents can really make an impact on your bottom line. Small fluctuations can equal big gains or big losses. When investing in penny stocks, you should understand the high level of risk and always use money you can afford to lose. This means using extra money and not money you have allotted for more conservative investments. You certainly don't want to put all your eggs in one basket when it comes to investing.
Investing in penny stocks can be a fun side venture if you've got the money to risk and already have a conservative, stable investing plan set up elsewhere. It is a bit like a roller coaster ride with lots of thrilling ups and downs. When considering free penny stocks picks, research the provider and make sure they have experience with choosing profitable penny stocks. If they don't, find another free service. You may even want to invest a little in a paid stock picking service which may pay off more in the end than a free service.
